A Short Course in Theology

Grown from the musings of Mary Mason, a parishioner who lived in Cottam, the Cornflakes Theology Movement (CTM for short) is the brain child of Rev'd Raymond Eveleigh. For Christians and non-Christians alike, using Mary's challenging questions, Cornflakes Theology is a way to broaden our understanding and give us an opportunity to investigate what Christianity is about.

What is Cornflakes Theology? Let us just say it is a challenging way of examining our beliefs and considering exactly what our Scriptures are saying. Be aware that we will find ourselves questioned and questioning as we attempt to deepen our understanding of the meaning of familiar Bible stories.
Many ageing congregations, getting smaller in number, are frequently despairing, negatively saying "we cannot afford to keep the church building in good repair and we cannot pay quota" and asking with a heavy heart "what can we do about it?"
Well, Cornflakes Theology aims to do something about it, through enlightenment, excitement and vision; things the Church needs as much today as it ever did and directed at regular churchgoers as well as those outside the church.

"Theology is perhaps first and foremost a celebration which helps us find a way or a truth that leads us into a life."
Archbishop Rowan Williams.
